Question
after breaking my scaphoid i was going to pt after the cast was taken off then i cut my thumb tendon so after the same wrist being set again scar tissue has built up i have incredible pain in "the snuff box" can acupuncture help me alleviate the pain permanently

Answer
Hi David,
Acupuncture would be worth a try.  There are no guaranties.  You should find someone to do direct moxa on your snuff box.  It maybe leave a scar but really amazing at relieving pain.  Moxa is an herb that has very warming and pain relieving properties.  It sometimes is put on  needles and burned.  Direct moxa for you would be a tiny amount of this herb.  Rice grain size,  burned on your skin, 3-9 cones. It will take maybe 6-8 treatments, depending on how severe things are. There would be a burn preventing cream placed on your skin as a barrier. It is very effective.  Acupuncture would also be worth trying.  That area will always be a weak link for you. So once your pain is gone you may have to occasionally come back for treatment.

Hope this helps,
