Acupuncture/accupuncture?

Question
Hi there!  I am wondering if accupuncture has been found to be beneficial in helping skin issues such as acne, and/or if there are any articles/studies, etc I could read on this.
Also, if you have any tips on finding a good, reputable accupuncturist, that would be great!
Thanks!

Answer
Hello,

Acupuncture and herbal medicine are very helpful for skin conditions.
I'm sure a web search will provide plenty of articles on the subject.

You can look up NCCAOM in some states, but the best way is a referral from
someone you know. At the very least, try one and give them 5-8 sessions to help you.
If nothing changes, find a different practitioner. Make sure herbs are a part of the
treatment plan.

Often acne is heat in the lung, stomach or blood.
Another diagnosis might be toxic heat, or damp toxin with blood stasis.

The treatment plan includes acupuncture and herbs to clear heat, dampness and stasis.

Have a good one,
