Question
I have bruxism (have been grinding and clenching my teeth for many years now) and use dental intervention with a nightguard. Can accupuncture can help relieve this condition? If yes, what type of treatment might I expect? In addition, what should I look for in a good accupuncturist? Thanks!

Answer
Hello Paige,

Yes, you may find great relief from Acupuncture!  Treatment may consist of acupuncture needles being inserted around the TMJ and jaw, which is painless.  Depending on your examination other points may be used.  You may find relief in a couple of treatments depending on how long you had the condition.  You may want to get a referral from a friend or co-worker who had acupuncture and was successful.

Have a great day,
