QuestionDr. Man Tran,
I had a few panic attacks in the past and i although they went away am still not well. Have a lots of pressure in chest and and neck to the point where it is hard for me to concentrate. I went to the doctor a couple of times but no results. I heard that accupuncture can treat this type of problem and i am willing to look into it and get a treatment, however, i want to find a good accupuncturist and i do not know where to start. I am located in Northern NJ, Can you please recommend a trusted source for finding a reliable accupuncturist? . Also, i heard horror stories and i am hoping they are not true but can accupunture have real disadvantages like physical trauma or to become paralyzed? I would greatly appreciate your advise in this matter. Thank You
AnswerDear Bea,
Acupuncture does manage panic attacks, depression, stresss, anxiety...etc. Depending on the underlying cause of your condition, the treatment will differ.
Acupuncture is very safe when performed by a "LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST." Their many hours of training and many courses including anatomy enable them to safely perform the procedures. All my patients feel very relaxed and fall asleep during the treatment.
I don't know of anyone in New Jersey to personally recommend. The best way is to ask around those who had acupuncture done for referal.
Good Luck,
Dr. Man Tran
