Question
Dr O'brien, my wife has been recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in her right hand. We've heard of many cases where surgery made it worse. We're looking for alternatives. Is accupuncture helpful for carpal tunnel syndrome? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hello Ed,

Acupuncture may help reduce the pain and tension.  Proper stretching and icing must be maintained several times per day.  Aslo muscle stripping the associated muscles will help reduce tension on the tendons.  There have been some studies that suggest B vitamins may aslo help with tendonitis.

Have a great day,
