Question
Dear Mr. Heather Vandeburg ,

Is it possible to give me some advice about the better acupuncture points and method of threatment to deal with elevated Blood Pressure (ranges about 140-160 / 90-100), either using needling and acupressure.

Best regards,

José Manuel Cruz

Answer
Hi Jose,
From the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) perspective there are many reasons and causes for elevated B.P.  I will give you some points that cover many different reasons.  All of these can be treated with acupressure(self stimulated) or acupuncture (by a trained professional). All of these can be looked up on-line if my description is not clear.  Yin Tang(between the eyes), LIV3 (Liver 3 in the space between the 1 and 2 toe bone on both feet about one inch in from the webbing. LI11 (Large Intestine 11 at the end of the crease at the elbow when bending the arm. I suggested using enough pressure so that you feel a slight ache at the point.  You can massage these points as often as you would like.  At least once a day would be good. There are also great points on your ear for lowering blood pressure.  You would need a point finder to locate them correctly.

Good luck, I have had good success in lowering blood pressure so I know it can be done.
