Is it possible to give me some advice about the better acupuncture points and method of threatment to deal with elevated Blood Pressure (ranges about 140-160 / 90-100), either using needling and acupressure.
Best regards,
José Manuel Cruz
Answer In my last more than 35 years experience I found acupuncture very effective in treating hypertension. The response is quicker in lowering systolic blood pressure, while a longer treatment is required to treat diastolic blood pressure.Points and type of stimulation will depend on the main cause of the problem which may be one or multiple. I decide my line of treatment and point selection based on my pulse diagnosis. If acupuncture is given to hypertensive patients purely based on the pulse diagnosis results are dramatic otherwise can be frustrating. Each patient needs a individual prescription of points and stimulation techniques.
