Question
Hello,I am 43 yro female.married for 21 years and have 6 kids. Two years ago I had a vertigo attack it was very strong and I was very scared. I was lying down and when tried to turn to the other side I felt the ceiling moving around me and I felt like a volcano in my stomach and vomitted after that. I went to the doctor and told me everything is normal.Today I had this attack again and I want you to tell me what are the causes of vertigo? Is acupuncture good for this case? I would be very thankful for your help.

Answer
Hi Sonia,
Well there are two answers to the cause. One is the western answer, and one is the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) answer. From the western perspective a lot of times vertigo is caused my an inner ear imbalance.  It if keeps repeating it might be Menieres disease.  It might be a inner ear infection.  From the TCM perspective main causes for vertigo and nausea are, Blood deficiency, internal wind, or summer hear stroke.  I would suspect if you have had that many children you may be blood deficient.  Especially, if you have heavy menstrual periods. Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine can really help this problem.

Good Luck.  Being dizzy is one of the worst things!
