-----Question-----
My nose always gets clogged up ??sinus?? When I sleep on my side sometimes I can feel whatever it is in there ??snot?? flowing from the upper side to the lower side. Example If I sleep on my right side it flows from my left nostril to my right. Then when I turn over it flows back. This may take several minutes maybe even half hour. I guess it depends on how thick it is. Then whatever side it flows to becomes clogged and the side it flows from clears up. I cannot blow it out completely so it is always there or will form. My Dr once had a cat scan of my sinus but as my luck has it I was able to breath perfect at that time. Is there some alternative medicine that can help or will acupuncture help?
-----Answer-----
Dear Jim,

My apology for the delayed response.  My internet has been down and unable to log on to attend to all questions.  Each question is very important to me to do my best to provide the appropriate information.

The condition you described is very typical in the setting of acupuncture and Chinese herbs.  What you may be suffering is from dampness accumulation in the nose.  Even if you are able blow out the mucus, it will eventually comes back.

There is hope however.  Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can manage your condition.  Acupuncture can open up your nasal and sinus while Chinese herbs can dissolve the dampness attacking the root of the problem.

Answer
Dear Jim

Acupuncture is an alternative treatment in which very fine needles are place in certain spots in the body known as acupuncture points.  Certain points have certain functions.  The process is painless and its purpose is to open up the channel or network of energy that run throughout your body.

The amount of treatment varies depending on the cause of the problem and your body response to the treatment.  Once the treatment is resolved, you will no longer need to receive further treatment until something reaggravate the condition.  If that is the case, then the sooner you receive treatment, the less visit it requires to treat.
