Subject: seizures
Question Is acupuncture affective for someone who experiences seizures? She has numerous seizures throughout her day. They can be mild ,where she just stands there in a blank stare , to ones that contract her body and she is in an unconscious state for 20 to 60 seconds. Thank you for your generous time.
Answer I have treated many patients of Major and Minor epilepsy with very encouraging results but usually treatment has to be continued for a long period of time including maintenance and period of close observation to avoid relapses. Pulse diagnosis plays a great role in individual cases to decide the line of treatment. Your's seems to be a cases of minor epilepsy and should response a little earlier but it all depends on the condition of pulse, and response to the treatment as it varies person to person. Routinely as a medical doctor I will prescribe Valporine Sodium in these cases based on her body weight which has to be continued for a long period of time but acupuncture may shorten the period of treatment provided it is done by the help of a proper pulse diagnosis. Please consult a expert in your area who has dealt with these cases.
