Question
While changing headlight bulbs on my car i started to wonder about the function of what seems like little cups in front of the bulbs. It looks kinda like a little cup, right in front of the bulb, also it is reflective on the outside it appears as if its not on the inside. It only appears in front of the low beam bulbs and it can be removed. Currently I am thinking about trying and removing one of them to see if it makes any difference. Maybe they play a simple role that I am not aware of... Help me out here! Also I am wondering if you guys know of some good automotive chat. Thank you!

Answer
I honestly do not know what the cup is for, my first thought was to reflect the light to the back of the housing unit so that all the light is used effectivly.  Be careful taking it off so that you can put it back on if needed.  Knowing Acura, that litte cup cost a lot of money.

As far as automotive chat, I know there are some boards on this website.  Other than that you might try an AOL and just look for automotive chat.

Best of luck,
Brian
