Question Hey there,
i have a 1992 Acura Integra with approx 245000 Km on it. Last week we had a major spring snow storm with a lot of really wet snow and my car wouldn't start. It was turning over but wouldn't spark. When the tow truck driver came we tried starting it and it fired up just fine. (about two hours after originally trying) I got an oil change (synthetic) and had a fuse replaced to fix the dash and tail lights. Then on my drive home the check engine light came on. Everything was running fine and when I got home (about an hour later) I turned it off and started it again and the light went out. I didn't have any problems for a week and attributed the troubles to the wet weather. Then yesterday (wed) my signal light went out, and so I dropped it off to be repaired. The technician replaced the bulb but then the car wouldn't start. He has been working on it all day, replacing the ignitor, and coil and hasn't' been able to get it running yet. Any suggestions for me?
Answer It's an electrical problem in the car, there is a wire either exposed or loose and it is shorting out your system. This is one of the most difficult things to fix as there are hundreds or wires running through your car and it could be any of them. I had the same problem with a car a few years back, in that one the headlights were causing the issue as they are one of the most exposed electrical components. Check your grounds.
