Subject: Compressor in 91 Acura

Question
Hi, I am looking to purchase a used 91 Acura with low mileage.  The owners say that the A/C is not working but that they had bought the compressor for $400, though it is not installed.  How much do mechanics usually charge to install this?  Will there be a lot of complications installing it?  Thank you.

Answer
No complications.
Replace the dryer and orifice tube (if equipped) also.
Usually you will be charged around $200 to $400 depending on the mechanic and his knowledge.
Wait till the end of the month to get it done and you might save a few dollars. ((bills for the shops are coming due!!))
