Subject: My RSX Cd Player is Jammed

Question
I have an RSX type S, i have the 6 cd changer or player, i don't know what they call it. but anyway, I place a CD that was burned and have a homemade label on it. Once i put that CD in the Cd Player, it got stuck half way, which then i pulled the cd out. ever since i pulled it out, none of my CDs are working, its not ejecting, loading, or even playing. Is there anyway i can fix it my self, or something?

Answer
Hello,

You could try using Electrical Contact Cleaner, it leaves no residue and removes oils and other films. Spray some on a Q tip and wipe the cd insert. Give that a try, you can spray the inside too but don't put too much you don't want to damage the laser. The cleaner will dissolve after a few seconds hopefully removing the sticky substance that is causing the cd player to jam.

If you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask.

P.S. You can buy an electrical contact cleaner at most hardware and electric stores.

Thank you,
Daniel
