Question
Our daugher is addicted to alcohol.  She is in jail now for another dui and this is her 5th one she had received. She goes by different last names so the law enforcement haven't connected all the names together yet. We were wondering if you knew of some place in Oklahoma, a facality that might be free to put her in for treatment for she is 47 yrs old, she don't have the money and we don't either to pay for treatments. She just got out of jail, was there 6 months and that didn't dry her out, she started back drinking the day she got out, she was out of jail only 2 wks and picked up again for DUI in a different county.  We are at our wits end, tried to talk to her and she won't listen.  We have tried desperately to help her, but got no where.  Could you give us any answers to our problem.  Thank you so very much, Wanda Esker

Answer
Wanda,
I know how difficult it is to have a child with alcoholism no matter how old she is; I have been through it too. This site has a rearch engine for treatment programs: http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/. Click on OK on the map, and then put in the city near you and you will find programs near you. Some programs have sliding fee scales and payment assistance. If your daughter has a public defender try to get him to ask the judge to send her to treatment. Good luck,
Jan Williams
