Addiction to Alcohol/odor

Question
I am currently with an alcoholic in recovery for six weeks.  Is it possible to still smell alcohol when he sweats?

Answer
Maria,

The answer is no as far as alcohol goes
but there can be other health conditions
that can cause similar smells.
One is a low carb diet, the other
is liver disease which has an ammonia like
smell. Also uncontrolled diabetics can
experience an acetone-like smell.

The bottom line is to see a doctor and/or
have a checkup to determine if it is a
symptom of some other ailment.
Of course a person sneaking drinks
would have alcohol sweats and smells
due to the alcohol in their body.
