Question
Clyde, I promised you that I would keep in touch, So he went to he's 1st AA meeting yesterday by HIMSELF! He came back so happy so full of life. I can not explain or express how happy I have felt since then. Today for the 1st time in a long time he actually sat down and organized hes office desk and made a list of things to do. Later he left to run errands. It felt so good to know he was not lieying to me any more and moving on with hes life. I feel so bad for him because he has so much to do and so much work to catch up. He absolutely loved the meeting. He came back with the "big book" and a white chip. Thanks again. I cried for most of the day. We're so blessed for this miracle!
Thank you Clyde!

Answer
Ivy,
I am so glad to hear that he has attended his first meeting.  Yes, he does has much work ahead of him, but with God's help he will be on a path to recovery and a new way of life free from alcohol and drugs.

I hope that you will be able to change your feelings of sadness for him knowing that he is going to know a "new freedom and a new happiness.  He will not regret the past not wish to shut the door on it."  He will "intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle" him.  These are just some of the promises he has waiting for him.

But, more importantly, as it relates to you and your family - he has an opportunity to really be a good husband and dad.

Grace and Peace,
Clyde
