Question Can the body burn off alcohol with exercise? Some say no and some say yes. Those who say no claim that it cannot be burnt off and is bound to be stored in the lever, which will take its own time to metabolize it(with time) no matter how hard one exercises. If yes, can I take 3-4 drinks daily and hope burn it off with a half an hour walk? Since I'm into body building, but also also an alcoholic addict, this is an important question for me.
Answer RJ,
alcohol is metabolized through the liver but
how fast it gets there is an issue.
The level of dilution by the body's water
and the food in the stomach are involved.
Oxidation slowly removes the alcohol
from the bloodstream but the liver
can only do so much at a time.
The alcohol stays in the blood until
the liver has time to process it.
Exercise may hinder the process due
to the loss of body water as in
prespiration.
Usually this forum is for people that want to
abstain from alcohol due to the problems
that have resulted from it's use.
Are you saying you know you are alcoholic
and have no desire to recover?
Is alcohol a problem or is everything going
okay for you? Often it is hard to see the
damage alcohol is having on us and others
we care about. This is denial and is part
of the illness involved.
I wish you luck!
