Question
relapsed two years ago after 10 years sober. kids now through college.divorced living alone and drinking heavily. scared.  is there hope? both siblings alcoholic.

Answer
Hello Bill,
As a recovering person I can say that I know how you feel. There is always hope, and the answer is always a spiritual one. I do not know your specific brand of spirituality, but I do know that God, or whatever your source of spiritual strength, works through people, maybe even through me since you reached out for help from me. Being alone and drinking as an alcoholic makes you feel as if you are the loneliest person on the face of the earth. So, my suggestion is that you start your day over whenever you read this answer, ask your Higher Power for the strength to not drink just for that new day, and go to as many meetings of AA as you can each day. I used to go to 3 or 4 a day because of loneliness and fear. Bill, I will pray that you reach out for spiritual help and start a new life of staying sober through spiritual strength one day at a time. Please stay in touch. You can reach me through my web site that is listed on this AllExperts site. Jan W
