Answer
Hi Samantha,

Seems you know that you have a problem and you feel out of control.

Try this self test:

You will probably find that drink controls your life. Have you gone to AA meetings? Check out if there are meetings in your area. It might also be helpful if you go to woman's meetings, because women have different issues than men:

Go consistently, get a home group and also get a sponsor when you feel comfortable in the group.

If you're not a group person, find out about addiction counseling or  recovery coaching.

Get the help that you need, because you can't do it alone.

Thanks for contacting All Experts,

Hope this is helpful,

Good Luck!

Expertise

I can answer questions on all addictive behaviors: alcohol, drugs, food, compulsive sex, codependency, gambling, compulsive shoplifting etc.

Experience

I have over 20 years experience working in the addiction field. My experience extends to all levels of substance abuse. I've worked in rehabs and detox centers, prisons and half-way houses and have a busy private practice as well as an active website where I can be reached for recovery coaching and consultation. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist, but 12-step programs are an excellent support. When working in the addiction field, there is no cookie-cutter solution. In the recovery field, you witness miracles. That's why I love what I do.
