Addiction to Alcohol/Alcohol

Question
My boyfriend used to be an alcoholic. He is no longer that way and says he knows what types of alcohol to avoid. When he drinks, he does not act any different but I worry because he will start drinking as early as when he first wakes up in the morning. Usually he starts around 11am and will have anywhere from 4 to 8 beers until I get home from work at 5. He does this everyday and on the weekends he will drink sometimes a case of beer in one day. My question is, is this too much drinking, should I worry?

Hi Kelly,

Just got back from vacation and found your question on alcohol.

To answer your question:
your boyfriend has a high tolerance to alcohol, but he is still an alcoholic. For an alcoholic, there is no such thing as what types of alcohol to avoid. All alcohol is alcohol.

Here is a link that can help you determine if there really is a problem.

Your boyfriend drinks much too much on a daily basis and he is actually killing himself iinternally., He will deny this, but you have to stand firm because if you love him, he needs help.
