Hi, my name is Hannah Woodward. I am a student at Canterbury University in New Zealand. I am trying to find experts in the area of substance abuse. My questions for you is, which do you think had the greatest effect on people, the consumption of alcohol or marijuana. I appreciate you taking the time to read and answer my question.

    Thank you for your question.  I wish you well in your research on this subject as it is a very important endeavor.  Unfortunately, (or not), I never experimented with marijuana - I was strictly a alcohol abuser so I have no firsthand knowledge.  I did not want to just leave you hanging with a "no response" so I answered.

I can answer questions on the recovery from alcohol addiction as I am a recovering alcoholic with 18+ years of sobriety. I can also address the spiritual aspects of the 12-Step program as I have a Master of Divinity degree; serve as a pastor for the Quaker church; and, serve as a hospice chaplain. I have also served as a prison chaplain for one year and currently volunteer as a mentor once a week, working with two inmates one-on-one as they work towards reentry into society as free persons.
