Question My wife is addicted to pain meds, and alcohol, ive been dealing with this for years and i definitly want out, she makes promices and never keeps them , any bump in the road and shes back to it , the drugs she hides somewhat , perscription, but i also catch her alot , holes burned in my carpet, couch, table cloths, then comes the alcohol, she actually went into a neighbors house at 3.45 am and my neighbor found her drinking his vodka out of the bottle at the kitchen counter , how do i get out but at the same time get her the support she will need to survive, her family is useless

Yes, alcoholism is a dreadful disease and takes control over your personality. It is a disease because most alcoholics are found to be hypoglycemic. This means in order to treat alcoholism we must first treat the hypoglycemia. There is no way you can talk somebody out of alcoholism, because it is physiological and not psychological.
