Addiction to Alcohol/Newly sober and feeling lost

Question
I recently hit my lowest point (jail etc) and unfortunately it took me hitting that point to realize that I was (am) in fact an alcoholic. My whole world has been turned upside down and I feel more lost than I have ever felt in my entire life.
I have been sober since the 10th of September and today was the first day when I actually started craving the alcohol again. My husband drinks in front of me and it has never bothered me until now.
My emotions, sleeping habits, and energy levels are a mess. I seem to cry nearly everyday and I just don't know what to do. I don't want to resent my husband for drinking in front of me but I am afraid I'm going to start to soon. I messed up very badly and I realize that but now that I am trying to do better I feel like that should count for something.
I feel as though I have no support. I feel so alone without my alcoholic comfort blanket so to speak. Is it silly for me to be a little proud of such a little time without a drop? When I bring up my concerns of him drinking in front of me, about how I think its insensitive he just says that he is not the one who messed up and got into trouble.
Please tell me if I am being unreasonable and I would also like to know some ways of overcoming the urges that are starting to bother me when I think about alcohol. Thank you and have a very nice day.

Answer
Hi Cie,

I agree it is somewhat insensitive of your husband, but perhaps if he has such a great need to drink in front of you, that he may have an alcoholic problem also.

To beat your alcoholism you need to realize that it is an illness and not something that can be controlled by sheer will-power. The disease consists of you being hypoglycemic. Most alcoholics are found to be hypoglycemic which is a fore-runner of diabetes. Thus the first step in treatment is going on a hypoglycemic diet. Please look up:

If you having cravings for alcohol please try to supplement with GLYCERINE, obtainable from a heath food store or pharmacy. Please search for GLYCERINE at our web site.

I hope I have been of some help. Let me know how you get on.
