Question
My boyfriend of 10 years is an alcoholic. I just recently identified a behavior with him. Before I identified his behavior it was as if I was playing a along with his games. Now that I identify his same lines of lies and empty promises, what do I do? After 8 years of being together I realized he had a problem. The reason being we partied a lot and together. He began drinking his junior year of college and I began drinking out of high school. When I was ready to settle down and stop drinking and partying he would not than could not. He has joined a coup;e live in facilities and that did not work but in that duration had a baby and he does AA cery seldom. How do I go on with my life and my child?

Answer
Hi Kelly,

If you review some of my previous answers I have mentioned that alcoholism is mainly a physical disease. If you understand the underlying biochemical mechanism of addiction, one should be able to treat yourself from addiction by nutritional means. The first step in addiction treatment is going on a hypoglycemic diet (please search our web site)  Please read:

The first step in treatment is going on a hypoglycemic diet. If problems persist, it is best to consult a Nutritional Doctor, Clinical Nutritionist or a Nutritional Psychologist.
