Hi Sherry,

You have lived with an alcoholic for 26years, and only you know what you've gone through with this man.

You don't believe that he'll stay sober, because you've been there many times before.....From the outside, it seems that you don't care and are not supportive of his recovery. However, it has nothing to do with that. You've been burned many times.

Explain this to him and his sister, but don't expect them to 'get it'. But whether they get it or not doesn't matter. By telling them how you feel, you become even more committed to your decision.  They will think what they want regardless,

When you're living with an alcoholic, you're in an  abusive relationship and you've suffered. It's time to take care of yourself.

I hope this information is helpful.
