Question
Been sober for 26 years. Having many different problems lately, I want to drink so bad but I don't want to be caught by my wife and kids I am waiting for a 24 hour period of being alone which will happen in a week to enjoy a beer and more basically just to forget for a day. This  is not a 24 hr situation I am going threw I have been dreaming about it and ran to  the store once but it was late and the store was closed.the thought and urge is there all the time but stronger some times .

Answer
Dear Brian

Planning a relapse makes it seem less serious but we both know a relapse is a relapse. I have been there, done that, wrecked the car, lost the wife. I was only going to drink one day and get it out of my system. I have been sober now for 8 months. Had been sober 14 years. It just isn't worth it. If you do drink, go have one for me. Good luck.
