Question
My husband is an alcoholic and uses cocaine. We got married last year. He promise many times that he would stop until one day he decided to go to a rehab for a month. The day he came back our daugher Isabella was born. He had been sober for four months. However, last night he relapse and got drunk. I have told him that if he ever went back in using,it would be over between us. I do not want a life of pain and grief but now we have a daughter. I don't know what to do.Help

Dear Claudia,

What you are experiencing is like hundreds of wives of alcoholics and drug addicts. Drug addiction cannot be willed away with the best of intentions, because it is a physical disease and NOT a "psychological" disease. The experts just don't know how to treat it.
