Question
My boyfriend has asked me to find a solution to his problem as he is not familiar with computers. I hope you don't mind.
He used to take heroin and other drungs about 8 years ago and has stopped that but he has a drink problem.
He is not drinking a great deal but he writes music and says he needs to get a little high to do this as he can't when he is sober. He wants to find a safe alternative as he has liver problems and his health is not good generally.
Can you advise or point me in the right direction.

Answer
Hi Lillian,

Your partner's use of drugs to feel better is due to a metabolic disorder that can be treated nutritionally.

Most addicts have a hypoglycemic condition that causes the symptoms of dependency.

Please read:

Drug Addiction is  Nutritional Disorder at:

He should be able to treat himself, although it may well take a year to fully recover. If in any doubt I suggest that he see a Nutritional Doctor.
