Some messages in AA not helpful wrote at 2012-12-13 21:30:31

This is a very hurtful message that only an alcoholic can understand an alcoholic. It assumes that no one else in society can have empathy or compassion.

I had the exact same message given to me and I followed the advice even though I knew that it was misinformed. The result my ex had an affair in AA because members said I could possibly never understand him. Please be careful of the relationship messages as they are quite harmful. He self destructed bc of the message and abandoned his family. It has been a great deal of work for him now. Those that assume that the woman is jealous as if often the message in AA are not in a position to give advice. Only the two in the relationship know if AA members and their messages are crossing boundaries. I had numerous woman degrade me, cut me and push their way into our relationship with their advice. Newbies are very vulnerable.
