Addiction to Drugs/contra indications massage

Question
I am a an ITEC qualifed massage therapist, sports and holistic. I work with clients in recovery from alcohol and narcotics. I wonder if you could inform me of any areas of particular concern when massaging this client group. Some are abstinent and some are not

Answer
I have seen the temples, face (when softly massaged), hands and feet as being great pressure points as well as the circulatory system trigger points and between the shoulder blades but remember I am not a doctor. Since the body system freaks out it makes it a relaxation point for those having any leg cramps and jerking as well as rebound headaches and tension.
