Question
QUESTION: I AM A 32YO FEMALE FROM WEST VIRGINIA.MY EXBOYFRIEND OVERDOSED TWICE LAST SEPTEMBER BY SHOOTING UP HEROIN AND COCAINE.THE FIRST TIME HE OVERDOSED HE FELL TO THE GROUND AND TURNED PURPLE IN THE FACE AND I CALLED 911 JUST IN TIME.THE 2ND TIME HE OVERDOSED IT WAS REAL BAD.I WAS VERY HIGH MYSELF AND DIDNT EVEN REALIZE HE OVERDOSED.I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST PASSED OUT,BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN MANY TIMES IN THE PAST HE WOULD PAST OUT FOR A VERY LONG TIME.HE ENDED UP ON LIFE SUPPORT FOR THREE DAYS,A STROKE AND POSSIBLE LIFETIME RENAL DIALYSIS.HE JUST OVERDOSED A 3RD TIME 4 DAYS AGO.THANK GOD I DIDN'T HAVE TO WITNESS THAT AGAIN.HE ONLY SHOT UP 1 OXYCONTIN THIS TIME.AFTER WHAT I WITNESSED THE FIRST 2 TIMES I HAVE BEEN SOBER.I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS:HOW DID I NOT KNOW HE OVERDOSED THE SECOND TIME?HE DIDNT APPEAR TO BE OVERDOSING UNTIL HE STARTED ACTING AND TALKING VERY WEIRD WHICH WAS A DAY LATER AND WHAT HAS THIS DONE TO HIS BODY?I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND ON THE INTERNET WHAT AN OVERDOSE SURVIVAL DOES TO THE HUMAN BODY.

ANSWER: The best answer os for your BF to go into a detoxification centre and take drug rehabilitation more seriously.

QUESTION: IF HE DECIDES NOT TO GO TO REHAB DO YOU THINK HE WIL OVERDOSE AGAIN?I MEAN AFTER ALL WHAT HAPPENED YOU THINK YOU WOULD QUIT DRUGS.

Answer
This all depend whether he wants to be treated. Only he can decide that. If he does not want nobody can help him. Then it also depends on what kind of treatment. Treatment for drugs addiction is very difficult. Many fail.

I use a combination of biology and psychology.

It is explained at:

Drug Addiction is a Nutritional Disorder at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/drug_addictions_nutritional_disorder.htm

and in my book:

Drug Addiction is a Nutritional Disorder at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/drug_addictions_nutritional_disorder.htm

I hope he will seek treatment.
