Question
Hi. My best friend did some sort of a study on his own. (if i can call it that) He smoked marijuana every other day for 8 weeks. (1 quarter of the school year) he would also smoke every morning before a big test and would ace it. He got the best grades he had ever gotten. his gpa was a 4.1 and it is usually in the 3.1-3.3 range. Is there any explanation for why he performed better under the influence? Thanks
P.S. im a male in high school

Answer
Hi john,

Anybody believing that they perform better under the influence of drugs is just fooling himself. In the end they all fall down. This often happen among actors and artists who operate under the illusion that drugs improve their performance. You friend could probably have scored even higher without drugs.

Without drugs he could have suffered from high levels of adrenaline. Most pot smokers self-medicate against high levels of adrenaline due to a metabolic disorder, that will only get worse as he continues to smoke pot. I would not be surprised if he can not function normally without his daily dose of marijuana.
