Addiction to Drugs/child 22 addicted to meth

Question
I have a daughter addicted to meth.  She has a 5 year old boy that I take care and have since he was born.  She lives and has lived in my home because of her child.  I have tried many times to help her and after 7 years I have had enough.  My problems is simply my grandson.  Because I take care of him the "State" feels there is no abuse of any nature.  Therefore, I have no legal ground to gain custody.  My daughter, whom I love very much uses her son to get by i.e. living arrangements, food etc.  I want my daughter out of my home, but I am fearful of what might happen to my grandson.  What do I do?  I can't live this way any longer but love my grandson so much.  She does have warrants and I want to turn her in but I know that she will allow the "state" to take my grandson just out of spite.  She does not care how she hurts her son as long as it will hurt me in the end.

Answer
Dear ALICIA,

This seems to be a legal or criminal matter which falls outside  my expertise. I suggest that you have a talk to the police, or perhaps a solicitor. If you daughter is not co-operating what is there to stop you from having her arrested for illegally taking drugs?  It seems incredible that nay child welfare agency would allow your daughter to look after the child under her condition.

Itis obvious that your daughter has failed to get the proper treatment. In case she is interested she should have a look at:
