Question
I just cant quit doing oxycontin. I usually do between 40 and 100 mgs a day. I've been to a detox center and left after 2 days, I don't have the money to spend for really any type of treatment and I cant miss a day at my job either. I have a pretty demanding constuction job that's pretty rough on my body as is the withdrawls from oc. I just want to know if there are any cheap ways at home, maybe a good diet and ibuprofen scheldule that will help with my withdawls. I really want to quit and i know i can this time i just could use some advice...Thanks

Answer
Jarid,

You need to know that I am not a doctor and can not diagnose. However, I have seen individuals detox at home by weaning off slowly and taking extra vitamins and exercising to limit the withdrawal symptoms. Showers are really great too or baths because the heat helps to relax the muscles. If you choose to come off of it by weaning though you need to do it on a schedule. Take a certain amount throughout the day and at the same time everyday. Make sure that you only drop the amount when you can tolerate it and DO NOT go back up for any reason. Use Ibuprofen or Tylenol for pain and only as directed on the bottle. Eat regular meals and healthier then you would normally. Stretches also help with the crawling of the skin.
I hope this helps.
