Question
I have a partner who has been taking amphet for over 2yrs now and is really finding it hard to come off it. He has tried before but went back onto using it. He has been to his GP which put him on anti depressents which dont seem to work as he has very bad mood swings and is sometimes violent. please can you help and give me advise what he can take over the counter to help him get through this.

Answer
Coming off methamphetamines can cause anxiety and agitation until the body gets used to being without it and he will go through an irregular sleep pattern which you have probably already seen. It is not dangerous but it can be overwhelming to you and him. I would suggest he takes vitamins, start reading and doing things that will enhance his ability to function and build his memory, also I would try drinking teas that will promote relaxation.
