Question
My sister has been abusing crystal meth for years. She is a 33 year old
mother of three wonderful kids but now frightened due to watching their
mother act insanely crazy. She lives at home with my parents.Never worked a
day in her life nor plans to.She goes out at night and comes home in the
morning. That is her life every day.She does not bother about taking the kids
to school or even cares for that matter.Just recently her behavior has gotten
worse causing the children to not go to school, not to eat,not to go outside.
As for my parents, frustrated at the end of their rope not knowing what
to do.She has been causing a major hardship for her children as well as her
parents. She will not move out of the house. She will not get help.
What are we to do?
Thanks,

Answer
Have her deemed an unfit mother in court and have her mandated to Substance Abuse Treatment. The parents have enabled her for so long that she knows nothing else so uproot her lifestyle and her habits. Make it impossible for her to do anything else and make it uncomfortable for her. She needs a residential treatment center so she can apply her stuff to some real therapy time. Make sense?
