with the use of marijuana. Whats the best solution for a 11
year old heroine addict to quit.

Answer
Hi Lubna,

I am very sorry for the delay in replying to you, the reason being because I have thought long and hard about whether to reply to your question or to reject it because of the complexity and fragility of the situation.

I have chose to answer it and offer advice as much as I can but it is still out of my expertise so I can only guide you on what to do.

Yes with Heroin the pupils become very constricted but in my experience the pupils are pretty normal with Methadone use although I am not 100% sure about this-my eyes were only slightly smaller.

Marijuana on the other hand I believe makes the pupils go bigger but again I am not 100% positive about this either as I didn't take much notice of it when I was smoking it.

I am absolutely devastated that an 11 year old boy is so heavily into these drugs-its very disturbing. He needs to get professional help immediately if he hasn't already. I am wondering where he is getting the money from to buy these drugs? I don't know if your country sells it cheaper but none the less how does he afford it? I really hate to imagine.

As for behavior changes-if he has used Heroin and depending on how much,he will either be feeling very happy and relaxed or if he has taken a lot he will be drowsy and his head will be hanging with eyes closed as he is sitting. Marijuana can cause the drowsiness too so it may be a little difficult to know for sure what he has taken.

Easier said then done but he needs to stop associating with the people who introduced him to these drugs as even though he believes they are his friends they are 100% not. That would be one step though a difficult one.

This next suggestion is a radical one and you may be able to do it or not but ask the local police for help.Ask them if they would put him in an adult jail for a couple of days so that it scares him so much and opens his eyes to what his future may end up like if he doesn't stop the drugs-that would give him a swift kick up the backside.

Lubna this is the best I can give. Its a delicate area and needs to be handled carefully but have hope. Talk to all the Drug workers,Police,Child agencies and professionals for additional help and support and you can always write in again. I wish you and the boy all the best and hope this will work itself out for the positive. Good luck, Caroline.
