Question
well i used to smoke marijuana for about three years and i stoped for about three months until my friend asked me to smoke with him after i smoked i had paranoia but i know that that is normal but then it felt like my heart was beating out of my chest but i finally fell asleep but for the next two weeks i became very depressed and could not sleep. Now every time i smoke weed my heart begins to race and i freak out. So my question is am i allergic to pot?

Answer
Hi Chris,

One of the very common side effects of smoking marijuana is having these symptoms of anxiety and in some cases paranoia. These may last long after stopping smoking it. This is because of an underlying metabolic disorder that may have been triggered by THC.  Marijuana is also known a schizophrenic reaction. Please read:
