Question
I have been an every day smoker for about 20 years.  I quit recently due to a job and have been having very strange dreams.  Is this a side effect of marajuana withdrawal.   My mind is made up to quit smoking and would like to know if there are any other withdrawal symptoms   and when will they go away??

Answer
Hello there!
Congratulations on your decision of quitting Marihuana.
Your strange dreams are just part of Marihuana physiological dependence as they could be anger bouts, cravings, irritability and increased anxiety which will subside within a matter of weeks up to approximately 45 days.
Marihuana as with other drugs works like psychotropic drugs such as antidepressants and antipsychotic medications which produce withdrawal effects when you stop taking them.
Determination is the key word!
I suggest that you take a relaxing herbal tea or pill for the term described above or until you feel better, maybe you will want to take this herbal remedies for a long time which is ok because they won’t harm your body even with prolonged use.
You can even take this herbal remedies to your work site with no complications.
It is like people drinking coffee at work.
Marihuana is a mild drug that should not cause unbearable withdrawal symptoms.
I know that you will make it through.

Having the knowledge and experience of the whole process, from living in the streets, my way to rehabilitation and recovery gives me a step ahead among others who have studied this subject just from a classroom perspective and not real life experience. Besides my own experience I am well educated in twelve step programs and support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotic Anonymous. Note: Please refrain from asking any questions that may encourage drug/substance use as well as other specific questions about "bloodwork" and other drug tests. For those questions, ask a team member specialized in Chemistry, Medicine, Psychiatry or Pharmacy.
