Question
I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years. When we first started dating all he did was smoke weed. About a year ago he amitted on using Crack cocaine and he started going to NA meetings. He was cleam or so I thought. A few months later I moved in with him, everything seemed great. We where happy and in love. A few months ago things started disappearing he always had an excuse for that and needing a few bucks every once in a while. I didn't think to much of it until people I didn't know kept calling our house asking for him. A week ago everything fell into place. He took my car to go to work one night and never came home. Detectives came over to my house the next day and said he was connected to someone. Then they called when they found him and he amitted he was a herione addict.I found out he stole my bank card and took in total $260 which was over what I even had in my account. I moved out. I couldn't do this again. I love him with all my heart and I just want to see him get better. He said that he checked himself into a rehab and he is going in a few days but he is such a good liar. He has no know one here for him except me and a few real friends. We all worry. I just want to know how can I support him. He is already going through withdrawls sense he is out of money and a job now.

Answer
Hi Meg,

Drug addiction is a serious illness, and not easy to treat. But unless he is treated he will ever be able to commit himself to a relationship, because - as you have experienced - addiction is a destroyer of personality, honesty, and true relationships.

If you want oto understand the psychonutritional approach to drug addiction I suggest that you read:
