Hi

I am currently doing a project on drug addictions. I chose to do my project on cocaine and is a bit stuck. The big question I need to answer in my project is : Does Cocaine makes you lose weight?
Can you please help me answer this question and give me some internet sources.

Hi Sam,

Well, cocaine is a powerful stimulant drug, and as such will affect appetite not unlike stimulants such as the amphetamine class of drugs.  Those were routinely given to people for weight loss.  

Now the point here is, of course, no one is going to rationally use cocaine for weight reduction, as one would a stimulant drug given for that purpose.  But no doubt some have done so.  Most stimulant drug use for weight reduction has been shunned.  The price one pays in developing addiction to these drugs makes them unattractive, cocaine being the worst of these!
