Question
I have been using drugs marijuana, ecstacy, lsd, and hearing voices and seeing things.  I stopped taking the drugs about a year ago and the voices are still there and I am cutting my thighs.  What is happening and will I do?

Answer
Hi Trisha,

I guess, you were using drugs as self-medication against your awful feelings, that are basically biochemically caused. You may have an biochemical abnormality that should be investigated by a nutritional doctor. If you go to a psychiatrist, he/she will probably put you on medication. Ask to be referred to a Nutritional Doctor. Please familiarize yourself with the connection between nutritional disorders and mental illness by reading articles at our web site. There are many other web sites that can help you (such as http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/articles/default.htm#D). Start off by reading:

Depression is a Nutritional Disorder at:

Silent Diseases and Mood Disorders at:

and ask for a referral to a Nutritional Doctor, Clinical Nutritionist or a Nutritional Psychotherapist, if self-help therapy fails.
Going on Hypoglycemic diet (look up at our web site) is the first step in treatment. Please search our web site for more information at:
