Question
I work in the health system. Two years ago i developed severe depression which was unregognized for a whil.e then i saw my GP who changed two antdepressants with no benifit. At that time, i decided i was just lazy and started taking benzodiazipine for a bout six months. after that my work found out and they sent me on leave. i was so frightened that i stopped cold turkey. i cant tell you how horrible that was. after that i went clean and kept with the antideprssants. unfortunately these didnt work out either and now i have started taking temazepam 10 mg tabs again. i take anout 6/7 per day. my compulsory UDS is coming up. what i want to know is how long do i kneed to stop before the test so the test is  negative. (PS i am not working and havent worked for a year)

Answer
Hi mahnoor,

You can treat your depression without recourse to drugs by nutritional ways. Please read:

Depression is a Nutritional Disorder at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/depression_disorder.html
Depression: a Disease of Energy Production at:

Silent Diseases and Mood Disorders at:

and ask for a referral to a Nutritional Doctor, Clinical Nutritionist or a Nutritional Psychotherapist, if self-help therapy fails.
Going on Hypoglycemic diet (look up at our web site) is the first step in treatment. Please search our web site for more information at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au or at the INDEX.

If you want to I recommend a doctor who will help you.
