Question
I have a friend who is using herion again.  I hace tried to be understanding yet firm.  I find that the more firm I try to be the more he feels like he has been abandoned.

Although this is not his first experience with herion, it is my first time at dealing with a substance that takes ful control.  My  limited knowledge tells me he not only should find the strength not to use drugs but change his lifestyle at the same time.  His drug use is destroying what can be a wonderful relationship, however it currently anything but that.  He has no insurance and our financial means are limited to say the least.  Can you point me to a facility in GA that will help us?

Answer
Drug addiction is not so much an illness resulting from weakness of will, but rather it is a physical disease that should be treated as such.
