Question
Ive been with my boyfriend for 12 months and he told me that he was Herion user about 2 years ago, He never injected only smoked it. Now my question is that i am concerned that this might be a problem again because he's been lying to me about money and I find his eyes are glassy nearly all the time plus his pupils are pinned... Im not sure what to do because he swears to me that he is straight but I dont believe him and it is stressing me out and ruining our relationship from my side.

Thanks

Answer
Hello Victoria,

This is a difficult problem. Drug addicts are known to lie about their addiction and so unless he admits that he has a drug problem and wants to do something about it, you have to seriously consider terminating this relationship. You have to start to think about your future and think through the consequences to your children and yourself, if your husband turns out to be a drug addict. Drug addiction is a disease that affects a person's mind and behaviour despite their best will.

Once an addict admits they have a problem and want to do something about you can help them. But they MUST want to be helped. Getting off drugs is not the final treatment, there is more to it than that.

Most drug addicts are hypoglycemic that can be medically tested. Thus the first step in treatment is going on a hypoglycemic diet. This needs to be followed up by a course in psychotherapy.

This is best done under the supervision of a Nutritional Doctor or Clinical Nutritionist and a Clinical psychologist. But a person could theoretically do it all by himself with the help of our web site.
