Addiction to Drugs/Marijuana

Question
Hi! I'm Dexter Mendoza, and i'm a freshman college student. I need to interview someone for my psychology class and i was wondering if you could help me by answering a few questions regarding marijuana:

1. First, could you tell me sonething about yourself and your profession. How did you come to be what you are now?

2. What do people look for in marijuana, or in any kind of drugs for that matter? Do people get satisfaction?

3. Marijuana is a psychoactive drug. How does marijuana alter a person's behavior?

4. Is there a high risk in being dependent on marijuana? How can drug dependence affect one's behavior, sociability, and family life?

5. What steps can we do to help a friend or a family member who is addicted to drugs?

6. Do you think marijuana use should be legalized? How about legalizing it for medical use?

That's all. I know it's a lot, but I would really appreciate any help you could give. Also, if you are kind enough, please give me an email address where my professor could verify that i did ask you questions. THANKS A LOT!

Answer
I do not intend to answer the question point by point. Most of the information about me can be obtained from reading my profile, and information about me from "Committee Members" at our web site.

If you want to know what I think about marijuana, read "The Connection between Depression, Addiction and Hypoglycemia" at our web site. Also read;

"Treatment of Drug Addiction"

It is my belief that people who suffer from hypoglycemia, are especially vulnerable to addiction to marijuana and any other psychotropic drugs.

Yes I do believe that it is better to legalize marijuana, although it will not necessarily reduce the problem of addiction.

In Holland where marijuana smoking have been legalized if that is the term to use, the problem of addiction among the young had been markedly reduced. Most addicted people come from countries other than Holland.
