Addiction to Drugs/Meth abuse and stroke

Question
Can a stroke be directly related to methamphetamine abuse? I feel the answer is yes. My husband is 43 years old and a 20 year abuser that has also been diagnosed with bipolar, depression. He has been on Zyprexa, Depakote and Paxil for 4 years. The Doctor said he had an infarct. Probably not spelled correctly. If you know anything about strokes and meth please let me know. I have 4 years clean.

Answer
Hi Nicole,

Having been using metamphetamine for so long the stroke and the drug abuse could be related.  I don't know whether your husband wants to beat the addiction, but if he is motivated perhaps he could start by reading:

Drug Addition is a Nutritional Disorder at:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/clinutrition/messages?msg=183.1

This is a new approach to the treatment of drug addiction.

He should also discuss with his doctor the article:

Depression is a Nutritional Disorder at: http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/depression_disorder.html

I hope I have been helpful.
