Addiction to Drugs/Methamphetamine

Question
Hello,
My girlfriend unfortunately is addicted to methamphetamine. SHe has been addicted for 20 years, and I have known her for 4. She is 41 and I am 47. She will occasionally "clean up" which involves abstaining so that the next round will have some effect. During withdrawals, she is extremely nasty and often verbally abusive. I have discussed it with her, and she refuses to stop taking meth, and she refuses any sort of rehab or 12 step program. Pretty much, she intends to continue using meth forever.

Is there anything that I can do for her or for my own peace of mind that you can thibnk of?
Thanks for your time.

Answer
Dear Don.

It is up to you whether you want to keep on living with a drug addict. If she refuses to have any treatment there is little we can do. This is indeed a difficult situation for you.

But if she does decided to have treatment then she should consider Nutritional treatment, because drug addiction is a sign that she has a biochemical disorder that can be treated by nutritional therapy. This should be done with the help of a doctor familiar with nutritional medicine.

Most drug addicts have been found to be hypoglycemic and if you do not treat this condition there is little hope for a drug addict to stay off drugs.

She can be medically tested for this with a special test described at our web site as:
“Testing for Hypoglycemia and How the Doctor can Help.”

If found to be positive then the doctor will put her on a hypoglycemic diet as a major part of treatment.
