Addiction to Drugs/Opiate addiction self treatment

Question
Hello, I know that If I go on methadone to treat my opiate addiction it will be even more difficult to end. I abuse methadone as it is. How do I live a life not revolving around eating opiates at the beginning of the morning to get out of bed or be in horrible pain at work? Im no heavy addict but I get paid every 2 weeks and i usually go on 7 or 8 day binges of opiate abuse (fentanyl, heroin, hydrocodone, morphine, methadone, tramadol, codeine, propoxyphene, oxycodone, etc) and end up feeling sick for 3 or 4 days, then getting paid and getting back on the horse cause it's the only way I know how to feel normal anymore. I am interested in Ibogaine because of similiar out of body "cleansing" experience I had with dextromethorphan hbr at one time. I also have a marijuana addiction which I also must abuse daily to function normally IE sleep, eat, work, take care of my son, etc. Any ideas, even the most extreme, are ones I would consider at this point. This may be my last hope. Thank you!!

Answer
Hi Drew,

You must be in a bad way. My advice is to get yourself into a detoxification unit run by doctors, and once you are clean to treat yourself nutritionally.

There are specific biochemical reasons why addicts are addicted.

I have explained  this in:

Drug Addiction is a Nutritional Disorder at:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/clinutrition/messages/?msg=183.1

and follow up the articles.

I hope you will be able to overcome your addiction. A nutritional doctor is in the best position to help you.
